ChatGPT vs Gemini for writing: the verdict by writing job.
Gemini changes its plans on October 9, 2026, Gemini 4 Argon is announced but not open, and the strongest ChatGPT models run in ChatGPT Work, not the chat window most people use. So most ChatGPT vs Gemini comparisons test the wrong pair. This one names the models each plan actually gives you, shows where each tool wins for writing and SEO content, and gives you one brief and one scorecard to settle it on your own work.

Is Gemini better than ChatGPT for writing?
Not for most writing, as of October 6, 2026. On Lech Mazur's short-story benchmark of 56 models, GPT-6 Astra places 4th and GPT-5.6 Sol, the model in ChatGPT Plus, places 8th, against 26th for Gemini 3.8 Flash, the best-placed Gemini. ChatGPT Free also keeps unlimited text chats, while from October 9 the free Gemini plan drops to Flash-Lite only. Gemini wins in two places: inside Google Docs and Gmail on Google AI Pro ($19.99 a month, with a 1M-token context in the app), and on mid-tier API price, where Gemini 3.8 Flash costs $0.75 per million input tokens against $2 for GPT-6.1 Sol. Gemini 4 Argon, announced September 30, could change the answer once it opens. For SEO content the tool matters less than the inputs, because neither has search volume data and both state wrong facts with confidence.

1. ChatGPT vs Gemini: which models you are actually comparing.
“ChatGPT” and “Gemini” are apps, and each one hands your draft to a different model depending on your plan. On the ChatGPT side the surface matters too. ChatGPT Chat, the conversation window, runs the GPT-5.6 models. The newer GPT-6 family lives in ChatGPT Work and Codex, and the only GPT-6 model inside Chat is GPT-6 Astra, renamed GPT-6 Pro, on the Pro, Business and Enterprise plans. On the Gemini side, the version names in the app are the same as in the API, but which ones you get changes on October 9.
Here is the lineup a writer can reach on October 6, 2026, with where you get each model, its API price per million input and output tokens, and how recent its knowledge is.
| Model | Where you get it | API in / out | Knows up to |
|---|---|---|---|
| GPT-5.6 Luna | ChatGPT Chat default on Free and Go | $0.20 / $1.20 | Feb 2026 |
| GPT-5.6 Sol | ChatGPT Chat on Plus and Pro | $4 / $20 to Nov 21 | Feb 2026 |
| GPT-6.1 Sol | ChatGPT Work and Codex on paid plans (Sep 29, 2026) | $2 / $10 | Apr 2026 |
| GPT-6 Astra | ChatGPT Work and Codex; in Chat as GPT-6 Pro on Pro and up | $10 / $50 | Apr 2026 |
| GPT-6 Luna | ChatGPT Work; desktop app on Free and Go | $0.10 / $0.50 | May 2026 |
| Gemini 3.5 Flash-Lite | Every Gemini plan; the only model on free from Oct 9 | $0.30 / $2.50 | Mar 2026* |
| Gemini 3.8 Flash | Gemini app on Google AI Pro and Ultra (Sep 2, 2026) | $0.75 / $3.75 to Dec 31 | Mar 2026* |
| Gemini 3.1 Pro (preview) | Google AI Pro and Ultra from Oct 9 | $2 / $12 | Jan 2025 |
| Gemini 4 Argon | Not open to writers: paid API and Google AI Ultra are next | Not published | Not published |
Three notes on the table. The asterisk is the Gemini model cards' own caveat: knowledge runs to March 2026, but some domains stop at January 2025. GPT-5.6 Sol's $4 and $20 is promotional pricing through November 21, 2026, and Gemini 3.8 Flash doubles to $1.50 and $7.50 on January 1, 2027. And Gemini 3.1 Pro is still a preview from February, so its knowledge is the oldest on the page.
The fair pairs follow from the plans in the next section. On free plans it is GPT-5.6 Luna against Gemini 3.5 Flash-Lite. At about $20 a month it is GPT-5.6 Sol against Gemini 3.8 Flash and 3.1 Pro. For one vendor's full lineup and effort settings, see which ChatGPT model writes best for each job and the matching guide to the best Gemini model for writing.
2. What each plan gives a writer after October 9.
On October 9, 2026 Gemini narrows what each plan can use. Free accounts get Flash-Lite only, where they used to get Flash and some Pro. Google AI Plus keeps Flash-Lite and Flash but loses Pro, on a date each Plus account is told by email. Pro stays on Google AI Pro and Ultra. ChatGPT has not changed its Chat defaults since August 6, when GPT-5.6 Luna became the free model with unlimited text chats.
| Price | ChatGPT | Gemini (from Oct 9) |
|---|---|---|
| Free | GPT-5.6 Luna, unlimited text chats, Think button | Flash-Lite only from Oct 9, 32K-token context |
| Under $10 | ChatGPT Go, $8: GPT-5.6 Luna, the same default model as Free | Google AI Plus, $4.99: Flash-Lite and Flash, 128K context |
| About $20 | ChatGPT Plus, $20: GPT-5.6 Sol in Chat; GPT-6 Astra and GPT-6.1 Sol in Work | Google AI Pro, $19.99: 3.8 Flash and 3.1 Pro, 1M context, Gemini in Docs and Gmail |
| $100 and up | ChatGPT Pro, $100 to $500: GPT-6 Pro (Astra) in Chat, weekly caps | Google AI Ultra, $99.99 or $199.99: higher limits, next in line for Gemini 4 Argon |
The context column matters more to writers than it looks. In the Gemini app, a free account holds 32,000 tokens of conversation, roughly 24,000 words, which a long brief, its sources and two drafts will fill. Google AI Plus raises that to 128,000 and Google AI Pro to 1 million, which Google describes as about 1,500 pages. If you are weighing Gemini against Claude instead, the same plan-by-plan view is in our Gemini vs Claude writing comparison.
3. How to run the same brief through both.
Typing “write a blog post about X” into both apps tells you almost nothing. With no brief, both return a fluent average of the web, and two averages look alike. The comparison worth making is on your real work: one brief, the same sources, the same instructions, scored the same way. The full protocol is in our Claude vs ChatGPT same-brief test, and it carries over with three Gemini-specific changes.

- Clear the saved instructions. On ChatGPT that means memory and custom instructions (an empty project works). On Gemini it means saved info, any Gem, and the Skills that replace Gems (launched September 30). Either side's house rules will tilt the result.
- Keep search off for the first run. Both apps can pull in web results. The first run should show what each model knows on its own; turn search on for a second run if your topic is recent.
- Watch the free context limit. A free Gemini account holds about 24,000 words of conversation. Run the free-plan test in a fresh chat per draft, or the second draft is written with half the brief already forgotten.
Everything else is the same in both tools: paste the brief word for word, ask for one section rather than a whole article, score the drafts blind, and run the test twice because output varies from run to run. The brief itself is the part most people skip, and the brief-first content process works identically in Gemini. Budget about two hours, which is cheap next to a year of articles written on the wrong tool.
4. Where ChatGPT wins for writing.
ChatGPT's wins are about prose quality on the public evidence, free access, and the bottom of the price list.
- Better writing scores. Lech Mazur's Short-Story Creative Writing Benchmark grades 600 to 800-word stories that must weave in ten required elements, across 56 models (last updated September 26, 2026). GPT-6 Astra places 4th and GPT-5.6 Sol 8th at its xhigh effort setting. The best Gemini, 3.8 Flash, places 26th, and Gemini 3.1 Pro 47th. Fiction is not an SEO article, but on the most detailed public writing board the gap is wide.
- Free volume. ChatGPT Free and Go run GPT-5.6 Luna with unlimited text chats and a Think button for harder requests. From October 9, free Gemini is Flash-Lite only, inside a 32,000-token context. If you rewrite and brainstorm all day without paying, ChatGPT is the one that keeps going.
- The cheapest bulk copy. Through the API, GPT-6 Luna costs $0.10 per million input tokens and $0.50 per million output tokens, a third of Gemini 3.5 Flash-Lite's input price and a fifth of its output price, and it knows the world to May 2026. For titles and product blurbs across thousands of pages, that is a clear win.
- Rules that stick to a project. ChatGPT Projects hold instructions that apply only inside the project and override your global custom instructions, so a style guide, a banned-phrase list and an internal link list stay with one site. The vendor also claims GPT-5.6 Luna makes 62% fewer factual errors than GPT-5.5 Instant, a comparison with its older self, not with Gemini.
The catch is where the best models live. On ChatGPT Plus, GPT-6 Astra and GPT-6.1 Sol run in ChatGPT Work and Codex, not in Chat, so a writer who never opens Work is drafting on GPT-5.6 Sol. That is still the stronger writer on the benchmark, but know which one you are testing. The SEO setups (Projects, prompts, clustering) are in our guide to ChatGPT for SEO, and if your ChatGPT drafts read machine-made, start with how to make ChatGPT write like a human.
5. Where Gemini wins for writing.
Gemini's wins are about where you write, how much you can paste in, and the middle of the price list.
- Inside Google Docs and Gmail. Google AI Pro ($19.99 a month) puts Gemini in Docs and Gmail, so the draft is written in the document you edit and publish from. Skills, launched September 30 as reusable custom instructions, can be called with a slash command in those apps too. Gems, which only worked in the Gemini app, move over to Skills in November 2026.
- A whole research pack in one chat. Google AI Pro gives the Gemini app a 1-million-token context, about 1,500 pages by Google's own description. Interview transcripts, a year of support tickets and your past articles fit in a single conversation.
- Mid-tier price. Through the API, Gemini 3.8 Flash costs $0.75 per million input tokens and $3.75 per million output tokens until December 31, 2026, against $2 and $10 for GPT-6.1 Sol. It doubles on January 1, 2027 and stays cheaper.
- Short business copy, on one board. Definition's AI writing leaderboard, which has professional copywriters score customer messages, product descriptions, headlines and names, put Gemini 3.1 Pro first at 7.63 out of 10 in March 2026 and called it prone to over-writing. That was before GPT-5.6 or any GPT-6 model existed, so treat it as a reason to test, not a verdict.
- The cheapest paid plan. Google AI Plus costs $4.99 a month and keeps Gemini Flash, against $8 for ChatGPT Go, which stays on the same GPT-5.6 Luna as the free plan.

The open question is Gemini 4 Argon. It was announced on September 30, launch coverage reported it in first place on Arena's text leaderboard with creative writing included, and nobody outside a small group of cyber defenders can use it yet. Paid API customers and Google AI Ultra are next, with no date. Separately, Gemini 3.8 Flash also answers in Google's AI Mode, which is a different question from which tool drafts your page; that one is covered in our AI Mode SEO guide.
6. ChatGPT vs Gemini for SEO content and blog posts.
For articles meant to rank, the choice between the two is the smallest decision in the process. Three inputs decide whether a post ranks, and neither tool supplies them.
- Which query to write for. Neither app has a keyword database, and Gemini running on Google's infrastructure does not give it search volume either. Any monthly volume either one quotes is a guess. The query has to come from measured data or your own Search Console, as laid out in our guide to blog SEO.
- What only you know. Neither has seen your customers, your numbers or your product. The first-hand material that makes a page worth ranking comes from you, whichever tool types it up.
- Whether the claims are true. Both write wrong facts fluently (section seven).
Using Google's own model earns you nothing in Google Search. Google Search Central says it focuses on the quality of content rather than how it was produced, and warns that publishing many pages with generative AI without adding value may violate its scaled content abuse policy. The ranking data points the same way: an Ahrefs study published in July 2026 found pages under 50% AI content held 82.2% of top-three rankings, one of the figures in our roundup of AI SEO statistics.
Being quoted inside ChatGPT and Gemini answers is a separate job again. It depends on whether their crawlers can fetch your pages and whether each page answers its question plainly, the work covered under LLM SEO. Which assistant drafted the page plays no part in it.
7. Knowledge cutoffs and the fact check neither skips.
Every model has a date after which it knows little or nothing, and for a writer that date matters more than any benchmark: anything newer is either missing from the draft or invented. As of October 6, 2026:
- GPT-6 Luna: May 18, 2026.
- GPT-6 Astra and GPT-6.1 Sol: April 30, 2026.
- Gemini 3.8 Flash and 3.5 Flash-Lite: March 2026, with some domains limited to January 2025.
- GPT-5.6 Sol and Luna (ChatGPT Chat): February 16, 2026.
- Gemini 3.1 Pro: January 2025.
Read that list with the plan table. In the chat windows most people use, Gemini 3.8 Flash on Google AI Pro knows a little more recent news than GPT-5.6 Sol on ChatGPT Plus, while Gemini 3.1 Pro, the “Pro” model, knows the least of anything here. The January 2025 caveat on the Flash models means you cannot tell in advance which topics are current.
Web search narrows the gap on both sides without closing it. ChatGPT's help center warns that web search citations can be incomplete, outdated or incorrect, and a Gemini answer drawn from Google results is still a summary of pages you have not opened. The fix is identical in both tools: put the facts in the brief with a source for each, then ask for every factual claim in the draft with the sentence that supports it, open each source, and cut whatever has none. That is the job an AI fact-checking step exists for, and it is the first step teams drop when they get busy.
8. The verdict by writing job.
“Gemini or ChatGPT for writing?” has no single answer, because writing is several jobs. Here is the pick per job as of October 6, 2026, with the reason, so you can tell when a new release should change it.
| Writing job | Pick | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Long articles and reports | ChatGPT (GPT-5.6 Sol on Plus) | 8th of 56 on the short-story benchmark against 26th for Gemini 3.8 Flash. Test it on your brief. |
| Fiction and other creative work | ChatGPT (GPT-6 Astra) | 4th of 56 on the same benchmark. On Plus it runs in ChatGPT Work, not Chat. |
| Daily volume on a free plan | ChatGPT Free | Unlimited text chats on GPT-5.6 Luna. Gemini Free is Flash-Lite only from Oct 9. |
| Drafting inside Google Docs and Gmail | Gemini (Google AI Pro) | Written where you edit, with Skills for house rules. No copy and paste. |
| One document from a huge research pack | Gemini (Google AI Pro) | 1M tokens of context in the app, which Google puts at about 1,500 pages. |
| Short business copy: headlines, emails, product blurbs | Your own test | Definition put Gemini 3.1 Pro first in March 2026, before GPT-6 existed. |
| Titles and meta descriptions in bulk (API) | GPT-6 Luna | $0.10 / $0.50 per million tokens and knowledge to May 2026. |
| Mid-price drafting at volume (API) | Gemini 3.8 Flash | $0.75 / $3.75 until Dec 31 against $2 / $10 for GPT-6.1 Sol. |
| SEO blog posts | Either | Neither has search volume data or checks its own facts. The process decides. |
The pattern under the table: ChatGPT where prose quality decides the outcome and for free volume, Gemini where the work lives in Google Workspace or the input is huge, and a test for everything close. Claude belongs in the same decision for long-form work, and the cross-vendor ranking of LLMs for writing puts all three side by side. For bulk short copy, compare either model with a purpose-built meta description generator or an SEO title generator that checks pixel width, because a cheap draft that Google truncates in the results is not cheap.
A worked example: one brief, one scorecard.
Take Pinecrate, a fictional subscription box for indoor plants, with a one-person content team that already lives in Google Workspace. The question is whether to pay for ChatGPT Plus or Google AI Pro. The company and its brief are invented; the protocol and the scorecard are ready to copy. Both plans cost about $20, so the fair pair is GPT-5.6 Sol in ChatGPT Chat against Gemini 3.8 Flash in the Gemini app.
Query: how to repot a snake plant
Reader: a first-time plant owner whose plant arrived root-bound.
Write: the section “Signs your snake plant needs a bigger pot” only.
Length: 300 to 350 words.
Facts: use only the attached care sheet. Mark anything else as [CHECK].
Voice: match the attached sample. Short sentences. Second person.
Never use: “it's important to note”, “delve”, “game-changer”, “in today's world”, em dashes.
Both drafts go into one document as A and B. The editor scores each on five checks before anyone says which tool wrote which. The fifth check is the one this pair needs: Gemini writes inside Docs, so count the steps from finished draft to the post editor as well as the edits. Then run the whole test a second time, because the same brief gives a different draft on every run, and one run is an anecdote.
| Check | How to score it |
|---|---|
| Edits to publishable | Every change the editor makes before the section is good enough to publish. |
| Unsourced claims | Facts, numbers and quotes that are not in the care sheet and are not marked [CHECK]. |
| Instruction misses | Banned phrases used, length more than 10% off, the requested section order changed. |
| Voice match | Score 1 to 5 against the style sample, read blind as draft A or draft B. |
| Steps to the CMS | Copies, pastes and reformatting between the finished draft and the post editor. |

Here is what one scored paragraph looks like. This paragraph was written for this guide to show the scoring; it is not output from either tool.
“It's important to note that a snake plant is happy in a snug pot for years. Roots pushing out of the drainage hole are the clearest sign it has run out of room, and 80% of root-bound snake plants show yellow leaves first. If the pot bulges or cracks, repot it this week.”
- Instruction misses: 1 (“it's important to note”).
- Unsourced claims: 1. The 80% figure is not in the care sheet and was not marked [CHECK]. It gets cut.
- Edits to publishable: 2 (one phrase cut, one sentence removed).
- Voice: 4 of 5. Short and direct once the opener goes.
Pinecrate also prices the same job through the API, in case it automates drafting later: a 3,000-word brief in and a 2,000-word draft out, at list price, before the reasoning tokens both vendors bill as output.
| Model | One draft, list price |
|---|---|
| GPT-6 Luna | about $0.002 |
| GPT-5.6 Luna | about $0.004 |
| Gemini 3.5 Flash-Lite | about $0.008 |
| Gemini 3.8 Flash | about $0.013 |
| GPT-6.1 Sol | about $0.035 |
| Gemini 3.1 Pro | about $0.04 |
| GPT-5.6 Sol | about $0.07 |
| GPT-6 Astra | about $0.17 |
The spread runs from a fifth of a cent to 17 cents a draft, so the edit count decides it, not the token bill: at any sensible hourly rate, two fewer edits per section is worth more than the whole year's API spend. Pinecrate scores each tool's full section twice, totals the columns, and logs the winner per job type (long article, product blurb, email) rather than overall, because Gemini 4 Argon or the next GPT release reopens the question. The ChatGPT side carries over to a program through the prompts in our list of ChatGPT SEO tools.
Common mistakes when comparing ChatGPT and Gemini for writing.
- Comparing different plans. Free Gemini against ChatGPT Plus, or Google AI Pro against ChatGPT Free, measures your subscriptions, not the tools. It happens because people test whatever they already pay for. Match the plans from section two.
- Testing the Pro model because of its name. Gemini 3.1 Pro sounds like the top writer and is a February preview with knowledge to January 2025 that places 47th on the short-story benchmark, below three Flash models. Test Gemini 3.8 Flash first.
- Trusting last month's verdict. Since September 2026 Gemini has shipped 3.8 Flash and Skills, announced Gemini 4 Argon and cut its free plan, while ChatGPT shipped GPT-6 Astra, GPT-6 Sol and GPT-6.1 Sol into Work rather than Chat and retires GPT-5.5 on October 14. Check the date and the model names on any comparison, this one included.
- Judging on a blank prompt. It is the easiest test and the least informative. Both tools write their best from a full brief with sources, which is also how you will use them for real work.
- Assuming Gemini knows search. It is tempting to believe the Google model knows what people search for. It has no search volume data and no special standing in Google rankings. Bring the keyword from measured data, and check every fact either tool adds.
- Switching tools to fix a volume problem. When a team cannot ship enough, a better assistant looks like the fix. The bottleneck is the brief, the check and the publish step per article, which scale with people rather than models. That is the case for autoblogging that refuses weak drafts rather than autoblogging without a gate.
The tool choice is the quick part.
ChatGPT for long-form prose and free volume, Gemini for Google Docs work and huge inputs, a same-brief test for everything close: that decision takes an afternoon and gets revisited when Gemini 4 Argon opens. The decisions that cost hours every week sit around it and are the same in both apps. Which query to write for, what first-hand material goes in, which claims survive the check, and whether anything gets published on the days nobody feels like writing.
That daily loop is what our AI SEO agent runs. The SEO Agent turns the steps on this page into fixed stages:
- Measured keywords. Live monthly search volume and difficulty for every article it plans, checked against the pages you already have.
- Checked claims. Each claim gets a cited source, and sentences without one are rewritten or removed.
- A quality gate. A draft that fails is held back, not published.
- Native publishing, daily. Into WordPress, Webflow, Shopify, Wix, Ghost or Framer, or anywhere through a webhook, with every stage set out on the SEO automation page.
It costs a flat $99 a month after the free trial, and you cancel in one click inside the app. If you are comparing it with a writer or an agency, see SEO content writing at a software price, and the story behind it is a short read. If Claude is still in the running, our head-to-head of Gemini and Claude uses the same scorecard.
Is Gemini better than ChatGPT for writing?
Not for most writing, as of October 2026. On Lech Mazur’s short-story benchmark, GPT-6 Astra places 4th of 56 models and GPT-5.6 Sol, the ChatGPT Plus model, 8th at its xhigh effort setting, while the best-placed Gemini, Gemini 3.8 Flash, places 26th. Gemini is better value in the middle of the price list and the better choice if you write inside Google Docs and Gmail. Gemini 4 Argon, announced September 30, could change the answer once writers can use it.
Gemini or ChatGPT for writing: which should I pick?
Pick by the job. ChatGPT for long articles, fiction and daily volume on a free plan. Gemini on Google AI Pro if your drafts live in Google Docs, if you want to paste a huge research pack into one chat (1M tokens of context in the app), or if you call a model through the API at volume and want 3.8 Flash pricing. For SEO content, run the same brief through both and keep the one that needs fewer edits.
ChatGPT vs Gemini: which is better for SEO content?
Neither decides whether the article ranks. Neither app has search volume data, both state outdated or wrong facts with confidence, and neither has your first-hand material. Google Search Central says it focuses on the quality of content rather than how it was produced, and that holds for Gemini too: using Google’s own model earns no ranking credit. Pick the tool whose draft needs fewer edits on your brief, then spend the time on the keyword choice and the fact check.
Which is better for creative writing, ChatGPT or Gemini?
ChatGPT, on the public evidence. The short-story benchmark that grades 600 to 800-word stories built from ten required elements puts GPT-6 Astra 4th and GPT-5.6 Sol 8th, against 26th for Gemini 3.8 Flash and 47th for Gemini 3.1 Pro. On ChatGPT Plus, Astra runs in ChatGPT Work rather than Chat. Score both on your own scene brief before you commit a manuscript to either.
Which free plan is better for writing, ChatGPT or Gemini?
ChatGPT Free, from October 9, 2026. It runs GPT-5.6 Luna with unlimited text chats and a Think button for harder requests. On the same date the free Gemini plan drops to Flash-Lite only, with a 32,000-token context in the app, which is roughly 24,000 words. Gemini Flash returns on Google AI Plus at $4.99 a month.
Is Gemini better than ChatGPT for writing in Google Docs?
Yes, if you already work in Google Workspace. Google AI Pro ($19.99 a month) puts Gemini inside Docs and Gmail, so the draft is written where you edit and publish it, and Gemini Skills (launched September 30) turn your house rules into reusable instructions you can call in those apps. ChatGPT drafts in its own window, or in ChatGPT Work and Pages, and you paste the result across.
Which is cheaper for writing at scale through the API?
It depends on the tier. At the bottom, ChatGPT’s GPT-6 Luna costs $0.10 per million input tokens and $0.50 per million output tokens, under Gemini 3.5 Flash-Lite at $0.30 and $2.50. In the middle, Gemini 3.8 Flash at $0.75 and $3.75 (until December 31, 2026, then double) undercuts GPT-6.1 Sol at $2 and $10. A 2,000-word draft costs between a fifth of a cent and 17 cents on either side, so edits cost more than tokens.
Will Gemini 4 Argon beat ChatGPT for writing?
Possibly, but you cannot test it yet. Gemini 4 Argon was announced on September 30, 2026 and is rolling out first to a small group of cyber defenders, then to paid API customers and Google AI Ultra, with no date or public price as of October 6. Launch coverage reported it in first place on Arena’s text leaderboard, creative writing included. Re-run your same-brief test the week it opens.
Does Google rank content written with Gemini higher than ChatGPT content?
No. Google Search Central says it rewards helpful content however it was produced, and warns that publishing many pages with generative AI without adding value may violate its scaled content abuse policy. Gemini being a Google model gives your page no ranking advantage. What gets pages demoted is thin, generic or wrong content, which both tools produce when the brief is thin.
Which is more up to date, ChatGPT or Gemini?
It depends on where you use ChatGPT. The GPT-5.6 models in ChatGPT Chat stop at February 16, 2026; Gemini 3.8 Flash reaches March 2026, though its model card says some domains stop at January 2025. The GPT-6 models in ChatGPT Work and the API reach April 30 (Astra, GPT-6.1 Sol) or May 18, 2026 (GPT-6 Luna). Gemini 3.1 Pro stops at January 2025. Both tools can search the web, and both can cite a searched source wrongly.
